NEW DELHI Nokia India VP and MD D Shivakumar will head all emerging markets –India, Middle East and Africa – in his new role, the handset major announced on Monday. Nokia is consolidating its eight global sales regions into four–India, Middle East and Africa, North and South America , Europe and Asia Pacific—and the new structure will come into effect from next January. Shivakumar will be the senior VP heading one of the four global sales regions that includes some of the fastest growing markets in the world. Nokia India will have a new head, who will be appointed within the next threefour months and will report to Shivakumar and the latter will be based out of Dubai. This announcement is part of Nokia’s plans to take additional actions to align its workforce and support the execution of its strategy and bring efficiencies to the organisation.
