RIM Launches Curve 9360 with Price Tag of . 19,990

NEW DELHI Research in Motion, makers of Blackberry mobile phones, launched the Curve 9360 smartphone in India at . 19,990 on Tuesday, reports Our Bureau. The handset is equipped with the new BlackBerry 7 operating system for faster, more fluid internet browsing experience, an upgraded processor, display and memory extendable to 32 GB. It also comes with built-in support for near field communications, pre-loaded latest BlackBerry messenger that can be seamlessly integrated with social networking platforms. RIM India managing director Frenny Bawa said the Curve series was extremely popular in India. “Curve provides an ideal upgrade path for our existing Curve customers as well as the millions of feature phone users in the Indian market,” she said.

Weighing just 99g and with a thickness of 11mm, the new Curve 9360 is the slimmest BlackBerry yet. One of the most stylish BlackBerry devices to date, the 9360 replaces the curve 3G 9300 — it not only gets a facelift in terms of design but also major updates in the hardware department. It has a 800Mhz processor, 512MB RAM and 512MB onboard storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB supported). BlackBerry OS7 is the operating system on the device and it comes preloaded with a document viewer and social networking applications. The 2.44-inch display (480 x 360 pixels) takes pride of place over the optical trackpad and the QWERTY keypad. Other specs include Wi-Fi, 3G, NFC support and a 5MP rear camera with LED flash that can record video in VGA (640 x 480 pixels) resolution.
