PepsiCo
seems to have lost its cool after last week's ET Brand Equity Most
Trusted Brands study, which ranked it lower than archrival Coca-Cola.
So, the beverage and snacks maker has sent out an internal mail to its
employees, requesting them “not to believe” the study conducted by
Nielsen. The company has also been telling the same thing to its
external partners such as advertising agencies. What is interesting is
PepsiCo not once raised eyebrows at the ET Brand Equity Most Trusted
Brands study in the past four years, when it was consistently ranked
higher than Coke. This year, Coca-Cola moved to 11th position from 23rd
last year, while Pepsi slipped to 21st from 15th position. A case of a
sore loser, huh?
